| About Dr. Hamilton |
| Dr. Karen Hamilton is a gynecologic laser surgeon and the Director of Intimate Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Hamilton attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, majoring in Medical Technology, while achieving a double minor in Biology and Chemistry. She then worked as a medical laboratory technologist while attempting to start a family. She struggled with miscarriages and infertility but went on to adopt her first son and had two subsequent successful pregnancies. These life experiences were the basis for her decision to attend medical school. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her OB/Gyn residency at the University of Wisconsin program in Milwaukee in 1997. She then moved to the Seattle area, joined the Center for Women’s Health at Evergreen and cared for women and their families there for 10 years, delivering thousands of babies and treating many gynecologic disorders. Throughout her training, practice, and personal life Dr. Hamilton was acutely aware of the changes many women suffered after having one or several babies. She wanted to provide her patients with the type of care that was attentive to the mind-body-spirit connection and found that the constraints of traditional medical practice did not easily allow for that. She was concerned about the loss of libido and the ensuing disruptions to their relationships that many women reported to her as they grew older. Dr. Hamilton’s scope of interest evolved beyond traditional OB/Gyn. So, she pursued and completed additional education in Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty under the direction of Dr. David Matlock in Beverly Hills, California at the prestigious Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America. She followed that with instruction from the International Society of Cosmetogynecology in Tumescent Liposuction and Medical Aesthetic Office Procedures (e.g., Botox, fillers and sclerotherapy), and received additional training in the art of bio-identical hormone therapy. This additional training allowed her to open Cascade Medical Aesthetics in 2007, where she became the first and only gynecologist in the Northwestern U.S. and Canada to provide Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Laser Vaginoplasty services. Her patients travel from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii to receive the benefits of her skills and expertise. Dr. Hamilton is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was board certified in 2001. She is an Associate of the Laser Vaginal Institute of America and a member of the International Society of Cosmetogynecology. Cascade Medical Aesthetics became “Intimate Cosmetic Surgery” in 2009, to better describe the nature of the specialized offerings. Dr. Hamilton believes that optimal health can be achieved by understanding that our minds, spirits, emotions, and physical bodies are intimately connected, and that you must have an intimate relationship with yourself before you can be fully intimate with others. She strives to gain education and understanding about all aspects of medicine and health that affect the mind-body-spirit-intimacy connection and then to provide services and opportunities to enhance and maximize this connection for her patients. Her perpetual dedication and unique medical and intuitive people skills have allowed her to create the perfect setting to do this at Intimate Cosmetic Surgery. |
